Really it did... "on the trailer" So now I am the owner of a 70's something 2500A with a loader.

It needs lots and lots of TLC!! But this is now my winter project.
It has a Very stout loader, 7 foot bucket and the reverser (shuttle shift). plus a 4 post ROPS. All the gears work. and it only smokes after start up. I already have a laundry list of items to fix.
I will be posting lots of questions on a different threads.
Andrew

Andrew, Nice looking tractor. The few I have seen are Industrial yellow and white. I wonder if yours has been repainted ? Doesn't matter, I like red and white better anyway.

Nice find, Bill

Andrew, Go to Joe Shelton's post on 11-19-2013 "IH Industrial Tractor". It is here in the Farmall IH Section. You will see some info on the 2500.

The bucket (not the entire loader) looks like mine on the 240U... red over yellow. I do not find yellow anywhere on the tractor though, where it's peeling or scratched. I know the guy I bought it from painted it shortly before I bought it.

Nice tractor! Run 'er a mile down the road and back. Betcha that 'smoke' goes away. :>)
Allan
Ya Allan, That's what I am hoping. When it was running after a few minuted the smoke got to be less. Now I am having a problem with the steering. ( See new topic Steering IH574/2500A )
Thanks for the reply.
Andrew.
