Is it possible to put the narrow front end off a B to an A. I saw one for sale locally and they said it was an A but it has the narrow front end. Haven't seen it in person just a picture of it.

I built a true BA the front half is a B and the transmission back is an A. I had an A that had hit a tree and broke in to a few parts so I took parts from 2 Bs and built my BA

More likely, the owner misidentified his tractor.

On an A, the engine is offset to the left, and is closer to the left rear tire than the right.

On a B or BN, the engine is CENTERED. It is the same distance to either the right or left rear tire. Only the driver sits offset.

There are some As with narrow fronts, but they are NOT factory. An A is too easy to tip over to the left with a narrow front, unless you set the left rear wheel very wide, or add duals.

I bought this one from Jerry Hansen in Iowa, it is a B with
engine/hydraulics from a super C and left rear wheel from an
A. A great mowing tractor but there's no way I'd mow on
anything but almost flat ground. I like old's dual left rear setup.

Its easy to move that wheel out and then add a wt on the inside of the center it you are worried about upsetting. It does make a nice set-up with a mower i have done ti a couple times for owner and they get along just fine.
