1967 Farmall 706 with German Diesel

I need some advice on my 1967 Farmall 706 with the German Diesel Engine. I was plowing ground the other day and clogged up the plow. I stopped put the tractor in reverse and cleared the clogged. As I pulled forward the tractor died. The tractor would not restart and no smoke was coming out of the exhaust. I checked the fuel filters (good), fuel at injector pump (good) and I took a line of an injector and turn the engine over and no fuel came out. So, I am not getting fuel to the injectors. I went and got another tractor and returned an hour later to pull the tractor out of the field. I tried to start the 706 one more time and it started right up. I have started it several times since and I was using it today. I just finished and I had the tractor idling outside the barn and it died again. I tried to start it again and no smoke is coming out of the exhaust. The same as before. I am going to go out a little bit and try to start it. Does anyone know what is causing this issue with the injector pump sometimes working and sometimes not working?

Thanks for the advice.

One quick issue to check is the vent in the fuel cap. A prolonged operation with sudden stop can be that!! Jim

Just for the heck of it run it again till it quits then take some cold water and pour over the inj. pump and try and start it.Usually they won't start after you shut them off when they are hot if the head on the pump is bad but stranger things have happened. Also try blowing back on the fuel supply from the tank. But only try one thing at a time so you know what the problem is.
