Farmall reg. - govenor linkage

have a 1930 reg. that im restoring , bought a complete engine from a 1930 tractor (which is serial numbered not much earlier then my engine) for a few parts i needed, took off gov. linkage because my original on is cracked in half just behind carb., found that the donor is different , the way it bolts to carb. and linkage shaft that goes into carb. also noticed cyl. head on donor has mounting holes in front , original dont,can anyone share some info on these differances , changes , dates, ect. what els differant my i run into ,ive restored many Farmalls from the 40s but this is my first on these early ones , and information seems to be exsperance not a book , thanks for any knowlegde you can share
 
the head is probably a later head or a replacement , if it has the 3 bolt holes for the V-belt fan mounting on the front. The 39 F-20s had that style, not sure if that was the first year for it, but that was the replacement for all the prior F-20s and regulars after it's introduction.
 
Can you post the part number that is cast into each head? I have a parts book for both the F-20 and the early Regulars and I will be happy to provide which one is which.
 
also as far a the heads ,the old one has 2 oil catch trays on the rockers w/ a place in valve cover to oil rockers & no (what i call) priming tubes that run into intake ports , the new one has 1 big tray with 8 felt wicks and a big piece of felt over the top , valve cover has no oiling holes but has priming tubes , and an oil fill cap
 
late 38 and 39 F-20's had the large single tray with a quarter turn oil cap

the other style was used on all regulars and F-20's up til late 38
 
The donor engine may have had a "Variable-speed" governor installed. This could explain the different linkage.

Post pictures if you can. There were a lot of improvements that were retro-fitted to the 1930 Farmalls.
