I just purchased a 46 farmall h and i am happy with it except it has the single front wheel i like the more popular dual wheel style and am thinking of buying one , just wanted to see how much work is involved in changing it over. do i just change the pedestal or the whole bolster unit.

There are four bolts that hold the NF on, just below the casting. If you turn the wheels about 45 degrees you can get a wrench in there to hold the bolt heads. One bolt has a tall pin on the head to keep the wheels from turning too far, it just needs to go back in the same hole out of which it came.

Make sure to attach front wheels with caster in proper direction. Had a neighbor who removed an M from under a cotton picker which operates in reverse direction and kept griping about how poorly his tractor drove once it was retuned to regular use. Discovered that he had not reversed the front wheels by 180 degrees to make caster in right direction.
