super m with c-281

Finally purchased neighbors Super m several months ago after he passed away. It was in his family for 50 or so years. My father would use this m on ocasion to help him get caught up. He always said it was a good running m keeping up with dads brand new 450. Could this m have come from the factory with its c-281 it now has? nobody can remember the motor ever being changed. Serial # 5120?? J

Didn't come in the tractor. Does it have a casting number above the C281? Does it have a engine serial number stamped in below the number 2 to 3 spark plug? Does it have a small plate retained by 2 bolts on the side of block near the carburetor? Maybe also find a date code on the block in the area below the spark plugs like 2*12*D or other numbers and letter.

Thanks Dave PN# 365586R1 Block Casting 7.1.K What is this? Could not read engine # Below carb is an oval plate with 2 bolts

365586R1 was used as a replacement block. Original SM block in a SM tractor was 356980R1 and a original 450 was 356980R2. 7-1-K = July 1 1964 when the block was cast. Probably doesn't have a engine serial number.

My SM has 281 pistons(overbore kit).Yea,it's a real horse.
