Timing Marks and Pointer on a IH 404

Can someone tell me where the timing marks and pointer are located on a 404? It's a former US Military (tag riveted to fender) tractor if that matters. I'm helping a friend get his 404 running again after a long time of sitting unused. I'm a Ford guy so go easy on me!

Remove No1 sparkplug near the radiator and bring that piston to TDC on the compression stroke. I would think the timing marks would be on the damper pulley. The pointer should be visible.

Since it has battery ignition you could use a timing light to locate the timing mark on the damper pulley. Hal

Since that tractor evolves from the Farmall C I would look under the clutch housing at the flyhwheel. That is where the marks are on a C. May have a scribed mark with TDC and that would align with a raised rib on the plate behind engine oil pan, bolted to clutch housing.
