McCormick Deering Vacuum Gage.

This is maybe way off line for our or this site but I have one of these just took it off the vacuum line in our old cow barn but my question is it has so much whitewash on it what is the best way to clean it and not wreck it or get water inside the gauge Thanks for your help. PS this white wash is thick for all its years.

I'd just use water. I probably wouldn't immerse it but a little moisture is not going to hurt anything inside. (brass and steel) I'd like to find one for my dairy equipment display. We had Surge milkers at home. In fact I have one of dad's pulsators, an early "Pine Tree" that dates back to the 1920s I think.

I don't know how old this would be but I am 62 and its been in the barn as long as I can remember, its just a nice piece also to add to my IH collection of stuff.
