hi guys I am looking for the serial number or some way to tell if I found a 301 engine out of a 715 combine. motor is tight from sitting in a barn but I need the block. any help would be great

A 301 from a combine will have the "301" stamped vertically on a pad upper right front of the engine by the water pump. A tractor engine 301 will be stamped on the left side horizontally by the oil filter. Just learned that this past weekend.

I have a 301 in a 57 binder dump truck, has the number 301 cast into the right side of the block.
