F300 sediment bowl leaking

I have tightened the packing nut over the years on the sediment bowl but now that won't stop the leak. Can I replace the packing? Does the fuel tank need to be empty to do so? Or do I need the replace the entire unit? Thanks!

If it's what I'm thinking, I replaced the packing on my 'H' with a wrap or two of thjinner-diameter Teflon stem packing. No leaks, no drips, no errors, unlike the Cardinals.....

Look in the faucet section at your local hardware store. They should have teflon string packing in a couple of different sizes. It usually does the trick for me.

The shut-off valve assembly used to be available seperately from CIH. They used to be about 1/3 the price of a complete new bowl assembly. I don't know if either are still available today from CIH.
