torque on oil pan bolts

Not sure but my right wrist clicks when i hit that point and seams to be good enough Elbow clicks when torquing a F E block intake manifold .Back cracks when torquing wedgeloc axle clamps and shoulder pops when torquing a 855 Cumming head bolt .

Depend on which type of gasket the cork ones not too tight or it will deform the cork. Just maybe 25lbs or what feels good with a crank and socket. Along wrench just mite bee too much if you realy bear down.

Not much! 100 INCH-lb (= 8 ft-lb) is plenty.

Too much torque can deform the pan flange and cause it to leak.

Torque for 5/16" tranny pan bolts using a cork gasket is typically spec'd at 13 to 15 ft. lbs. at the MOST, I wouldn't think a person would want much more on an engine pan.

I guess I would go with the Vet and a wrist click. Never torqued a pan in my life, it's in the wrist. M gasket would not be cork. Any cork gasket needs to be retightened when warmed up and maybe even again later on.
