Farmall M No Spark

I have a 1944 M with distributor and have no spark out of coil. I replaced the coil and still no spark. Check the power wire to the coil and found a faulty wire. Replaced it, but still no spark. Have power to the terminal, but no power to the distributor side terminal during cranking. Any suggestions on what to try next?

Check/clean your pionts to make sure they are not coroded.Dirty points can/will prsvent current from flowing. That happened to me on an Oliver '60'

Trouble shoot then parts NEVER the other way around. Coils almost never go bad but point corrode in 24 hours if conditions are right. If the point do not conduct power you have no spark so bet your point need cleaned and you can throw 100 coils at it and still NEVER have spark

The coil input from the IGN switch (when ON) should, of course, always read 12 volts to ground HOWEVER the other to distributor coil wire is usually zero volts if the points are closed AND IF GOOD AND NOT BURNED AND NOT BADLY CARBONED!!!

When the ign is on and the engine slowly cranked over a test light on the coils to dist terminal should flash ON (points are open) and OFF (points closed).

If she never flashes off the points are bad or not closing, if she never comes on the coil is bad/open or the condenser may be shorted or the points shorted or the wires bad to dist or its shorted out.

CHECK POINTS FIRST
