I got a 300u that is all restored, paint, tires, gauges, ( I think tack has 5 hrs on it sence it has been redone)was overhauled. I bought it for the wife cause she thought it was "cute", but now she does not like to drive it, ( no ps ) yes I know I can add ps but just think"n sell it, and get something more modern. what is it worth? think"n some where in the mid 5 range? give me some ideas. thanks

I paid $2800 for mine last January at an auction which means, in case you haven't thought about it, that there was a backup bidder. It had also been "restored" but not by my definition. I bought it to do the kind of work you would expect from a utility, so all I cared about was it was solid and started and ran good. It had a very nice two bottom FH plow with it...the kind with the center link made for the utilities. All I had to do to it was adjust the pto bands. Good tractor, it earns it's keep.

I am amused by the phrase "more modern". I have driven all kinds of tractors in all kinds of situations. In the 40 HP range I have a hard time thinking of a modern improvement that you can get that you couldn't put on the 300 or that it doesn't already have. Maybe some nice modern "safety devices" or sensors that are just going to clutter up your life and make it harder to maintain. My starting lineup here consists of one tractor from the 80's, three from the 50's and a 1976 pickup truck. Give me older any day.

I sold a good one with FH,live PTO and P/S Monday for $1700.00 and 8-N are going for 2200.00 around here, but nobody wanted the 300.
