christmas lights

Hey folks, the local chamber of commerce is having a tractor parade in November and it requires you to have Christmas lights on the tractor. How would I power multiple strings of lights on my tractor? It's an M and I would like to really light it up...thanks for the help, ~Anthony

I use a small 800 watt Homelite generator. It'll power all lights you'll put on just a tractor, especially if you use LED lights like I've been converting to. If you used LED lights, you may be able to get away with only an inverter. I've ran many, many strings of LED lights with it. I once maxed it out with the regular bulbs with lights on a tractor and a trailer. The generator I use is nice, heck the tractors are louder than that generator. -Andy

Get a small (150 - 200 watt) inverter and a dozen strings of 100 light LED Christmas lights.

If your M has been converted to 12 volts, wire the inverter directly to the battery. Of if your tractor is still 6 volt, simply "borrow" a battery for the evening from your car/pickup to power the inverter. The inverter will now easily power your LED Christmas lights.

Look at Walmart, Radio Shack, etc. for an inverter - about $30.

The Walmart inverter works good, I"ve used it in nighttime Christmas parades. ONly caution, do not try to operate an electric drill for tractor repairs, it"ll fry it.

I have over 350 led lights on the tractor and me in this photo. Since the tractor is still 6 volt + grd I use my 12 volt camper battery (located behind my left foot) and the Walmart invertor the other"s have mentioned. For the lights on the moving wheels I use the small batery pack led light sets. Work great, and I drive this tractor 4 miles to the parade location.
