i just put a second hydraulic remote on my 706 , but although it works it doesnt automaticaly release in up or down position when the pressure builds up. it is also hard to release by hand. the other one still works fine. im not sure if it needs to be bleed and is air locked, or if the valve is just broke since it is used, all i did was bolt the second one on and hooked the hoses and lever up.

Is the valve spool hard to move or is it just hard to get out of the detents?

If the spool is hard to move you may have distorted the valve body when tightening the bolts or there may be debris between the valve bodies.

If it is just hard to get out of the detents remove the dust cover plug on the rear end of the valve and loosen the adjustment screw in the end of the spool.

If the lever is hard to move from detent to detent, how tight did you tighten the three bolts that hold the stack of valves to the right hand seat support? I don't have my service manual handy but if I remember correctly the torque is like 25 ft lbs. on those three bolts. Just loosen them up a little and see if the lever moves any better. BTDT.
