For those of you who were in the equipment business before the mergers of the mid-1980's and sold New Holland how many thought the dealership got better terms for New Holland new wholegoods versus the major supplier they were selling for. Obviously quite a few dealers used NH to fill gaps in the major's lineup but just curious often NH was pushed because it was the better money maker on a given machine. I can remember one dealer salesman saying it varied on the item but more often than not there was so many NH dealers around that the price cutting against the competing NH dealers sucked the profit out of the sale. IH was this salesman's major supplier.
