856 LP

Saw my first 856LP today. Was shipped to Delta & Pine Land Co. in Scott, MS.(north of Greenville, MS).

My father told me years ago that D&PL ordered 30-40 of these tractors insisting they were LP tractors. Had one helluva time keeping head gaskets on them!

How many were made?

Harold H passed away couple months ago. Far as how many 856LP's, not sure but just guessing probably not very many.

the 56 series was the last you could get LP form the factory. Ive seen about a dozen or so 856's over the years. fairly scarce

Ive got an 806LP and would like to find an 856 to go with it

I have not seen one but it would be an interesting find. John A. should pop in on this one. He has a 656Lp. I've seen 706, 806 and 504 Lp's. All my Lp stuff is M through 450.
