Bearings seals measurements for farmall A

Does any one have all the code numbers and dimensions for all the bearings and seal in the transmission / differential of a series A ihc farmall?
I just priced 4 of the 6 bearings and 1 seal of 3 for the differential $250 to $300 Canadian shipped in the the ihc dealer.

If you mean the IH numbers, see the parts section of CaseIH.com. They can be crossed by any reputable bearing/seal store. I replaced all of mine about in my Super A about 3 years ago. Mainly to see if it would reduce noise. It did but not all of it. Since you can cross them I see no reason for the dimensions, although some people think so. When crossed the store also has the dimensions.

My experience on those trannys is the bearing on the input shaft if it has any play i replace and it sure does quiet the tranny down. Most of the noise comes from the finals. They were noisy when new especially in 4th.

Gene--I knew that you said that before I replaced them, but I had the whole tractor 100% apart, so I did them all, pilot bearing may have been enough. As to 4th, I don't consider that noisy. One thing I remember when I drove my dad's four year old or so B in 1950 was that all gears sounded different. So, I don't pay a lot of difference to noise in my SA.

Dear CNKS:
To bring you up to date on progress of finding alternate numbers for the bearings & seals.
I found all the code numbers for the bearings & seals YET I didn't find alternate numbers for them so I could cross reference as many as possible. I wrote the agent IHC supplier / have not heard back asa yet ( as of Friday writing)
The only option I have is the Mike all the bearing spots O/D I/D and width, since I had / several months ago disassembled the areas in question due to water contamination and cleaned all parts; then going with this information to places such as Canada Bearing and others, find alternate compatible bearings HOPEFULLY at less cost that the quoted one from IHC in Woodstock Ont.
Maybe the info is on the IHC sight >> BUT I AM A FUMBLE FINGERS when it comes to using the computer { IF I make a mistake by pushing the wrong button I have known me to take up to to hours to figure out which one I pushed and then
correct it} so I have not been able to ferret out this info form the IHC sight.
If you have any other information in this regards I would appreciate it You may email me @ [email protected]
Thank you.
