parts available from this site

I am looking at buying two wheel bearing sets this week. I have not ordered from this site before, i usually go through the local case dealer or other sources. Can anyone tell me if the bearings from this site or from a dealer would be american made or are imported bearings taking over the replacement parts market?

I will not buy imported bearings.

Thanks

Calling them is less rumor and far more direct. Suppliers change and this site has had few issues with customer satisfaction. Jim

Good luck with that. Even some of the old time brands, such as Timken, are now coming from across the ocean. The good news is that most of them are still good enough.

You may not have a choice. A lot of parts sold by major US companies are farmed out overseas, this includes bearings. Most of what I buy is SKF, formally Chicago Rawhide, from a local store that specializes in bearings and seals. CaseIH sells mostly National, I believe. As to the price, at least some of CaseIH bearings are closer to original, meaning more balls or rollers. I have had to take back a couple of SKF bearings because they were different than the original ones, replaced with CaseIH, I think National, at a higher cost. That said, for the lighter use that most old tractors get it doesn't make much difference. But, I prefer to talk to the local bearing sales people who at least have a basic understanding of bearings rather than asking a person over the phone. It is becoming more and more difficult to find USA parts and in some cases, trying to find it is shooting yourself in the foot.

Had to get a bearing for a zero turn lawn mower idler pulley Friday. Told him I wanted two of them if he had them, preferably American made. Gave me two of them made in chiner.

I replaced all the steering box parts on a Super A a few weeks ago with Case parts. One bearing came from Mexico and a bushing came from Brazil. Everything else was USA. I had new aftermarket parts to compare with. No matter where they came from, the Case parts were better.

Because they are (usually) made and checked to a specification. What you have to watch out for are "no-name" Chinese parts. Would you want a part made by someone who does not want his name on it? The other thing to watch out for is counterfeits.

I always try to go to local Case-IH dealer, I feel they need all the help they can get, the last thing we want is for them to go out of business.

Think about it the next time you see the price of a part, and immediately start looking for a "cheaper" alternative.

Most of the bearings you buy from the big three are now made over seas. I bought some combine bearings from Deere this fall and they were stamped "Made in Russia".
