1961 farmall 460

I am looking at a 460 gas,it has a narrow front. The front wheels are the same type used on an H or M. I thought these tractors had disc wheels on the front. Did they build them this way or has someone changed wheels or front pedestal? A friend had a 560 with the same type wheels.

Should have disk wheels on the front.

I was under the impression that some of the very early ones had the cast front wheels. Leftovers from 350/450 production.

The early 460s and 560s used the same set-up as the letter series.

Most all lower bolsters have a date code and casting number on them. If you find one or both on yours. Think you will probably find some one installed the lower bolster with wheels from a M to 450 on the tractor. Not unusual if someone removed the wide front before selling the tractor at one time. Find them put on 460 and 560 farmalls sometimes for whatever reason. If the lower bolster has a 4 number casting number followed by D to DD its not a 460.

Very first ones we got in had disc wheels. August of 1958 just in time for the fair.
