560 hydraulic lever

When I move lever down the 2 point fast hitch goes up, when I move the lever up it goes down. Is this backwards? Should the hoses be switched?

Sure sounds like it, unless you don't know up from down on the lever (I'm sure you know up from down on the Fast Hitch  ). Back is down and forward is up, unlike a "side console" for a 3 point.

Moving lever to the rear should raise the hitch on a 560. The normal mix up on these is that the previous tractors like a 450 were the opposite. However, the 450 did not use teledepth valve with follow up linkage. Now if someone has removed the teledepth valve and linkages and installed a regular valve , you could reverse the hoses and get by. If it still has teledepth with linkage to hitch, reversing the hoses will damage parts, most likely the differential gears in the valve, and of course it will not work.

Thanks it's all original so I guess it is what it is. Just makes it cornfusing when I'm trying to grade the drive way.

My 1962 560 with teledepth fast hitch is lever forward is down and lever backward is up same as the newer tractors but our 400 and 450 were opposite but they didn"t have fast hitch.

Okay, the ones I mostly ran with Fast Hitch were a Super C and 450... did not realize they changed for the *60 series. I did use Dad's 460 just a little, but only moving round bales and grading the open cattle shed. Did not recall it seeming backwards from the 450, but it may have been.

Should only be confusing for the first 5 mintues or so. You'll get used to it.

If they didn't have fast hitch how were they "opposite?"

On implements, if you don't like the way the up/down works, all you have to do is switch the hoses around.

You can't do that on a 560 Teladepth because there is a feedback linkage that senses the position of the hitch and turns the pressure off. If you switch the hoses around, the hitch will go all the way in one direction and stick there with the hydraulics on high-pressure bypass through the relief valve. After about 5 minutes of that you'll burn up the hydraulic pump.
