I have two sets of fenders, one set has slightly damaged lower ends and the other set is beyond repair. I have been told that if you cutoff the front portion of the wrecked fender that it can be welded on the lower portion of the other fender and the angles/contour will be correct. Before I try this has anybody had any luck doing this?

sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do when you gotta to do it. makes sense to me. any body man or good welder can do that. dont know exactly where the cuts will be but you might want to have tractor handy for mockup before final weld to have all holes line up.

Auto body professionals do that every day when restoring old cars. Cut away the rusted/damaged section, cut a matching patch from a replacement part, weld it in.

You need a MIG welder to do this as a general rule.
