Red Light on an H Tractor.

A buddy of mines Dad has and H tractor and it has and hour meter mounted on the light bar and a red light on top of the rear taillight were these options back then or added tractor was bought used back in the day and had them on it.

They were probably installed by the owner. I have a yellow light and hour meter on my garden tractor. I installed both, the light will flash when the engine is running. Hal

My 51 Farmall H came from the factory with that little red light, on top of the rear light. But no hour meter, that would probably have been added on later I would think.

The bullet shaped red light atop the rear work light was a factory option into the early 1950's. (Later production had a red lamp incorporated inside the rear light.)

The hour meter on the light bar was NOT a factory option. The factory hour meter was mounted to the right side of the engine ahead of the distributor; it was driven off the distributor drive.

Note: I've seen a few H/Super H's with fitted with tach/hour meters mounted to the light bar. The meters were cable-driven using distributor drives salvaged from 350(?) tractors.
