When I raise my sickle bar, the tractor raises it with a jerk and it flops around in the air like a one wing roof clutcher. Any way of easing the hyd oil into the cyl?

You can put a one way restrictor in the line. this passes full flow down, but restricts up. Many sources are out there. Surplus center is one.
Another thought is to change the leverage to make the cylinder move farther when lifting, or using a bigger cylinder diameter. Jim

You have a point Gene. A person could put a 1/8" X 1/4" X 3" strip of steel on the control rod and hose clamp it to the rod as a less than full out stop. Jim
