BN Surging/Hunting like mad (Take two)

So my crazy surging BN have been reeled in. You can see my issues here:

It was the bumper, I had to turn that sucker in at least 1/2" from where it was originally. The spring was there so I just cleaned everything up and reinstalled. It still idle down nicely so I guess I've got it right.

This old girl has always low idled like a dream but the upper end of the throttle has been a bit uneven. Not like a constant miss just random small pops. It cleans up somewhat under load. It does tend to foul plugs after a while so I probably should check that. Probably due to it not being worked all that hard and the engine just being worn (it leaks from everywhere).

Tractor engines were made to work and not start and mess around keeps plugs clean. Go out and go for a drive at open throttle for a while. Mite need a hotter plug.

Yeah, I know. I wish I had more work for it but it's the "tug", pulling small trailers/wood splitter etc. Every now and then I have to pull the plug and brush them down. A hotter plug probably wouldn't be a bad idea. Right now I have Autolite 386s in there.

It does burn oil though, it's really pretty impressive both the front and rear seals leak, it burns oil on top of that yet it will start and run cold, hot you name it.

I have an A that's in much nicer shape over all but the O rings on the sleeves are leaking so it's out of commission.

I did that about a year ago (and not that many hours ago)

Could need a valve job though.
