after 4 years the guy finally sold it to me

I added that 350 listing since your tractor is painted with white trim as I-350 came from factory. A lot of folks added this newer color scheme to their 300's

Serial plate will say I300 if 1955 or I350 if 1957.

Interested in your hitch. These tractors came with 2 pt Fast Hitch. You have 3 pt which is a conversion of some type ?

It has fast hitch with 3 point inserts and has a nice factory looking 3 point must be some kind of aftermarket thing but looks nice and factory like
 
That's a 300 utility type 2 point hitch. They came with a top link mount. 300 utility 2 point plows had a top link connection.
 
I see only the standard fast hitch in the picture with the tongs and a center link added. The link may be from the FH plow used on the 300U. I have one of those plows and it does have a top link. I don't see how a 2 pt tractor can have a 3 pt hitch on it so he may be referring to the IH adapter listed in the parts manual...a horseshoe shaped vertical frame welded across a set of tongs with open "eyes" to catch the lower link pins on a 3 pt implement. I have one of these also. Haven't had time to try it but looks like it would be an improvement over those fool tongs.
 
Dave, Couldn't see linkage well and thought mower was 3 pt. But probably is 2 pt mower with prongs into the fast hitch. Still could have the Fast Hitch prong inserts with three point balls in them so mower still could be a three point ?

I can see it OK. It is a 3 pt mower. The tongs in the FH are after market and adapt the FH to the pins on the implement. The center link is either one he had around or from a plow made for the 300U. It's a little easier to see if you have one in the barn like I do. :)
