885 diff lock

Looking at this Case IH 885 with really low hours. It hasn't been run much at all which is probably what is causing this problem.

The diff lock pedal will not press down. Also the diff lock light is stuck on. I can make turns and use the brakes to stop the left or right wheel so it doesn't look like the diff lock is actually engaged as it says it is. What is wrong with it?

Hi from archives:
Differential Lock:
If the differential lock is stuck locked on or if it doesn't lock. Check the pedal for free movement, it has a shaft that actuates the lock fork, the shaft is below the hitch cover and the link from the pedal hooks onto it. Often it has rust on the shaft where it turns on the rear housing. Try to spray a good lube on the shaft or you may have to lift the cover and remove the shaft and clean it.

My first instinct would be to reach for a can of Kroil or PB Blaster or Agco Panther Pi$$ and start spraying the pivot point, while gently tapping the pedal in both directions with a MFH (medium f-ing hammer).

If that doesn't help, it's a matter of take it apart, see what's wrong, and fix it.

Not being able to see it, I would say the pedal is rusted solid from disuse/sitting outside and the switch has stuck in the ON position.
