IH 886 VS JD 2950

I am looking for some imput on comparing a IH 886 and a JD 2950
I will want either in 2wd and with a cab
I know the IH is made in the USA and the JD is made in Germany I think
are they both dependable and are parts still easy to find for both

I realize this is the ih board but I would deffently go with the deere. better transmission,better cab design ,better visability,greater resale value.altough you could probably by a ih in better shape for less money. I hate the left hand shifters on ih.

I think the 2950 is a nice tractor (I had a new one
once) but it would compare closer to the 686 and I'd
still rather have the IH. But then I am probably
biased to red. The 886 is WAY more tractor than the
29.

I don't have any experience with the 886 or the 2950, but every time 2950 comes up around here they say get a 4020 instead. We've looked a few times and there are some that say the 20 and 50 series don't compare, but I know the 4020's are still well represented out here.

But, that's all just people talking. I know we looked at a few 4020's on heavy recommendation from others. For our purposes though, I'd rather spend the money on something red
