354 3pt leaking down

my 3pt just started leaking down the other day and while running it will leak down then jerk up. im thinking probly bad oring bad somewhere but have never had to work on this one. anyone got any ideas what the problem might be?

Hi Steven,
You can isolated the leak down problem to the lift cylinder or the 3pt control valves by lifting the 3pt to the top and then close the valve at the front of the seat and see if the 3pt leaks down. If it leaks down then the lift cylinder is leaking. If no leak down then problem is in control valves. Make sure draft control lever is full forward.

i done that test and it leaks down with the valve turned off. so how do i get inside to change the orings on the piston?

Hi Steven,
I have never had the opportunity to replace seals on the 3pt cylinder. We had a 434 with the leak down problem but it was our loader tractor and we didn't use the 3pt that much.
I don't know if you have to remove the hydraulic housing or if it can be removed by removing the front off the hydraulic housing. Consult an IH repair manual.
