Dad's mowing tractor is overpressurizing he believes, has blown the upper hose off twice and don't know if it has spit coolant out of the rad cap or not but he did say today that he's got a new one he's going to try. He put a temp gauge on it when this all started, and says sometimes it runs a bit warm but doesn't really get hot. Said coolant is not the cleanest looking, so I told him I figure the radiator is probably not passing a whole lot of flow.. Will try to flush it but in the case of buying a new radiator, does it sound likely suspect before he burns the cash on one?

How are the radiator mounts?
Had an old Jeep CJ5 that the body was rusted bad enough that the front end would flex and pop the upper radiator hose off.
Had a lot of fun with that old Jeep!

One side, don't remember which, of the hose is bigger in diameter than the other end. (I think the rad side is a bigger OD than the gooseneck side. If he got a hose with the same ID on each end, it will blow the gooseneck end off. Otherwise, Is make sure the whole cooling system is clean outside and in, and the fan belt is tight. May need a new cap as well.
