Not really expecting an answer, but why is it that holes never line up? I just got through installing a new seat on my 240U, replacing an "almost" identical one.... same manufacturer, same style, same cushions, several mounting holes pre-drilled, but none of them lined up. No problem, I'll just take the slide base off the old one and slide it into the new one... nope, 1/4 too wide. Guess that's what drills are for
Now maybe my rear won't get wet for days or weeks after a rain.

Some things are standardized. SAE sets particular mount designs for engine attachments and these work really well in the OTR trucking industry. Manufacturers of accessory systems should do the same, or agree on specifics, but they do their own thing to (theoretically) reduce competition. It wears out rat tail files, andmental attatudes. It happens because the builders are not careful enough, USA made doesn't seem to make any difference. I expect to have to modify things such as seats and battery boxes, it happens every time. What I expect to get is something that I can make work, not a direct bolt on.

WEnt to put away some leftover chili, tried to match Zip-lock brand / Walmart brand containers / Tupperware containers / Dollar gENERAL containers, Target, with the assortment of lids; all the lids are almost the same color, almost ehe saame size, but the sizes differ by 1/64". Nothing will match. Nothing seals up with the other.

My dad was a mechanic and service mgr all his life at IH Dealership.

He had a saying about "will fit" parts!

WILL fit everything.

WON'T fit anything, just right.

You are dealing with a tractor that was built to inch standards, and part built to metric standards. A 5/8 wrench will fit a 16mm bolt, but it is not the right size, close but---
