My 706 left brake doesn't work. And when the tractor is running it bounces sometimes. I haven't tore into it yet waiting on my manual. Took my 4 year old grandson for a drive today for about 5 miles and back. I have a steer knob on it and the hole trip the steering wheel would make a slow revolution to the left while steering. In other words knob starts out at 4 o'clock position while driving it will in a short while be in the 12 o'clock position and so on. Wondering why it would do that? If that's not clear I'll rephrase. Thanks for any and all help.

Far as the brake, may need to be bled, might be worn out linings or self adjusters or even oil on linings. Now the steering. It is caused by front of tractor pulling slightly one direction. There is a small amount of leakage in the steering hand pump (steering wheel) and the control valve(mounted on top of clutch housing)which is normal. There no solid connection to front wheels as it is all hydraulic fluid (hydrostatic steering). I corrected a lot of them over the years with the new spring that IH released for the steering valve. It is a very light spring so requires much less effort, thus pressure, to keep running straight. Steers easier also of course. Used to be biggest problem when moldboard plowing as it is a rare tractor and plow that pull perfectly centered.

well tore the brake apart...what a mess gonna need a few new parts for it.

Is 806 brake parts the same as 706?

There are differences in the outer cover and center plate between the early and late versions of those tractors.

dang i found a 64 806 with what look like good outer cover. on mine one of the stationary pins broke off and is still stuck in the tractor side.... the springs in it don't even look like springs they are so full of gunk. . guess I'll have to do some more checking around.
