best adhesive for old decals?

I have run across some old-stock decals that are about 30 years old, and they're not quite sticky enough. Does anyone have a favorite adhesive (preferably in spray form) that I could apply to the backs and would also leave them removable with a heat gun if I ever need to repaint again? Thanks.

good question. You could try spray contact cement, but I don't know how it will hold up to gasoline and water.

3M 77 trim cement spray. Use sparingly, it will hold if the directions are followed. Try a scrap piece as ti is not perfectly transparent unless applied thin. Jim
