When Im mowing with a Simi mount sickle mower, in first and wide open, when I come to a corner and raise the sickle bar, it looks like its trying to fly, jumping up and flapping the baer up and down a couple times. Is there any way I can stop this other than slowing down the speed as I come out of a corner and raise the bar,
By the way, as due to a previous posting, I tried mowing in second, and shattered the pitman. This with factory sharpened sickle bar. It broke in the center, not near either ends.

Just dont pull the lift lever back too much. Is your sickle bar adjusted for lead so when its mowing the bar isnt running back thus running at an angle. And is the sickle in time so it makes a complete slide back and forth to allow make a good cut.

Can't remember exactly what it is called, but basically it is a device that installs in-line with the hydraulic hose, and restricts the hydraulic flow in one direction (lift) and allows for full flow in the other direction (lowering).

Don't even know for sure if they are still available. If they are, I would like to know where.

Item# 9-7933-8-5 in stock at Surplus Center, will stop flow in one direction and allow it in the other. Use this with a bypass around it with a 1/4 turn valve to adjust the lift rate, and the open direction to allow lowering fast. Below is another source (selection page.) Jim
