F 20 radiator cap leaks

I need to install a gasket to the cap/cover/lid so it will not leak. What should I use? The engine side covers leak also. What type of gasket material do I need to use for them also?
Thank you

For the side gaskets, I use the cork-rubber material about 1/8 thick. I silicone it to the lid to make it easier to assemble. For the radiator, Old thick inner tube or that thick red rubber gasket works great!

I've had similar problems. For the radiator cap, first smooth the surface of the radiator where the cap goes with a wire wheel or wet/dry sandpaper (depending on condition) You can use JB weld if you have any really bad pits. The caps can be pretty rough too, so do a similar treatment. IF possible, get some gasket material quarter in. in thickness (from your local NAPA store). If not available, glue two thinner gaskets together with silicone. Cork is OK, but rubber type material is better.
Side covers are a pain too. Smooth up the surface. I used RTV with the gaskets and that worked. YOu could even use just RTV as I doubt you'll be opening these up. Hope this helps.

A prior owner of one of my F-20s used a piece of flat belt to make a gasket. Works well.

I have some cork gasket making material. I think I will try it on the radiator cover. I have a few old tubes that I could also try, if I am not happy with the cork.
I guess if I am not going to need to open the side covers, I could just "glue" them closed with that black gasket making stuff in a tube. One of them had a black gasket that looked like thick paper.
Thank you
Steve
