super h pre cleaner

What is the correct pre cleaner for a 53 super h? Did they just come with the topper cap, glass jar type or a plastic pre cleaner? Thanks.

Could have been any of the above, most of the
plastic United Specialties precleaners were found on
later 53 and 1954 Supers.

The precleaner was an option. The mason jar type is what I have seen on most.

The dome was stock, the Jar precleaner was optional during production, the plastic was accessory post production from several sources including dealers. Jim

I think the cap was standard but many came with the glass jar, my 53 SH has one, for that matter my dad's 47 H had one. Not sure about other types.

My 53 was made in September. I have the plastic one on there. It's been there since I can remember but I wasn't sure if I should keep it or go back with the jar type.
