I just finished this 1950 H I added power steering to it last year. Fun tractor to drive. I added a before and after.

H and SH Farmalls are rite sized. I have wished all along that they had made the 300 look just like a SH. Just because they have more style. Jim

Looks great!

Could you give some details/pics about the hydraulic pump you used for the power steering?

Char-lynn torque generator? New or used?

I have an M I would like to make the same additions to.

Thanks.

The torque generator is a rebuilt one I bought. I used a Chevrolet truck pump and set it were it needed to go and made brackets I also added a smaller hitachi altenator on the other side and it worked pretty well. On a M id just buy a whole charlynn kit as I have a lot of fab time to get this to all work

it was a nice clean H made it easy to clean up. Really wasn't any leaks I can let it sit for a month and no drips.

I agree, I think the 'H' is the best tractor to work on, everything is up in the air, right at chest height. I have a question; this is NOT NOT a correct-police question; I thought the oblong opening on the wheel weights was meant to line up with the clamp bolts, so you could loosen them and tighten them? Not that it matters, I thought it made it easier. .

I believe you are correct. My ole rusty Farmall h has the weights aligned with the oblong holes as you mention so it was very easy to access the axle clamps with a big 3/4" drive socket when I moved them.

guess I never gave it much thought when I put them on. It does make cense thought I will keep that in mind in the future.

Could I be so bold to ask for a pic of your power system pump please? I am trying to retrofit an M for power steering, thanks
