I have a 78 International with a 537 V8 and 13 inch 2 plate clutch and Dana 5 speed. This will be the third season for it with me.

When I bought it I thought the throw out bearing maybe going as it makes some noise with the clutch pushed in. It hasn't gotten any worse and the clutch adjustment seems good.

Is the anyway to tell for sure that it is the bearing or something else? I hate to drop the tranny and find out it was something else.

Trucks that I drove years back that had 2 plate clutch discs just made noise when the pedal was down. Nothing was wrong with them.

I took a video of it just a few minutes ago. I'm uploading it to Youtube. I've never uploaded a video before so I hope it works. It is still uploading, but the link should be http://youtu.be/BkR5RDI_La4 when it is done.

Thanks.

Quick follow up. My service manual arrived and it has a short procedure to determine if it is the intermediate plate rattle or bearing. Following it the rattle is not the bearing and according to the manual normal.
