I have been around my GF's SW6 for awhile, so that is the tractor that drew me to IH. So H/M are odd to me, as row crops are really grown in Western Canada. Most of the tractors out here are called "Western", but nobody here calls them that. After WW2, my GF had a H for awhile. My Dad has picture of him on the tractor when he was 2. GF was gone before I was born, H is gone & no idea where. It got traded for a W4, then the SW6 which we still plow snow with. Last winter Dad had interest in getting a H, found one with a belly mower. Gives us a reason to have it, cut grass on tree line. There is a few issue with the old tractor. The lower bolster has piece of cast missing/broken off. Found a another H, its in poor shape. But has good bolster. Neighbour for some reason thinks the beat up H we brought home, he wants it. Tells me that bolster of a M will work. He has wrecked M. From what I have noticed, the M is a lot bigger tractor. I don't think they are the same. Does anybody know for sure? Since W tractors are a lot different in steering setup, I don't know. Thanks for reading my long winded post.
