66 series question for the experts

My 766 has louvers on the rad sheet metal. My buddy just bought a 1066and it has no louvers on the rad sheet metal, but his 966 does. Does anyone know ahy some do and some don"t?Kent

The early built tractors (1973 and before??) have the louvers. The 1974 and later do not. IH found the louvers did not aid in the cooling of the tractor, so they were deleted.
