McCormick WD-9 Value

Hi guys
I work at a shop where there has been a WD-9 Parked out back for ever, sheet metal is ok, needs paint, runs like a champ but gas start lever has to be held up when starting. I want to buy it but neither of us know what it is worth, I have some ideas of my own but want some other opinions on value. What would you guys pay for something like that?
 
Its worth whatever you feel comfortable in paying.
If it was sold for scrap iron, might bring aboot $400.00 more or less.
 
What part of the country? You didn't mention tires so they must be junk. I have $2000 in tires and they aren't top of the line, but they are pretty nice Firestones front and rear. If it runs well that is a very good thing. You will have around $3000 in parts for a rebuild. Just a total guess but I don't think $2000 is out of line. BUT you can hardly find a GOOD M for that money around here.
 
An unrestored WD-9 that ran well sold in my area at the beginning of August for $1400. Tires were fair but not new by any means. IMO that was undervalued. I would say $2000 for a good unrestored one that only needs a few minor issues repaired is about right. If the head is cracked then scrap price. Lots of them have cracked heads.
