Working on transplanting a rear end in a H Farmall. The donor has a cable going into the transmission but you can see three the fill plug that it is hooked to nothing . Would appreciate any info or pictures on these transmissions. Just trying to figure out if it may be worth fixing.

Cable should go into the clutch or center housing then through a special dowel pin in the front transmission wall. Then it hooks to a lever something like K-10 in the picture. # 8 goes in the shifting sleeve 7 slot and through pins moves a splined or teeth like shifter that can lock two different sized constant mesh gears. Lever forward is high range and back is standard range.
Picture is a lever shift but just imagine the lever shift parts missing and the shift lever 10-K made different on the end to retain the shift cable.
look through the belt pulley gear box opening to see what's there.

I need a little help, ID of the two different makes of 9 speed attachments. Your picture shows the lever on the RIGHT side of the case. I'm looking at a transmission that's for sale with a 9 speed but the lever comes out the LEFT side of the case. M&W and Heisler which is which. Thanks for your help. Charlie

All heislers I know of are on the left. M&W had some with a lever on both sides. Difference is the levers attached to the shaft coming out of the transmission case. If all the shift parts are there a heisler has a shift lever with a rod going to the shaft lever. M&W on the left just used a rod to lever like this picture. This M&W setup is not as common as the cable or right side lever.
