points and condenser

I just changed the points in my "M" it has a magneto (h4 I guess) can someone tell me how to get the condenser out so I can change that too

Remove the kill wire from the brass nut if so equipped.
Remove the coil cover if you haven’t already done so.
Loosen and remove the brass nut that the kill wire was attached to.

Remove the oval cover on the side opposite of the brass nut and remove screw holding the base of the condenser in place and slide it out of the hole.

Slide in new condenser, take care to catch BOTH wires with the stem of the condenser and reassemble.

It comes out the back side towards the block. Best to pull the mag. Take off the cap & note where the rotor is pointing. Also mark the mag & casting it bolts up to so the timing will be the same when you install it.

Did you remove the cover where the gears are that turn the rotor if so you just mite have got the rotor out of time. I wouldnt worry about the condenser they just dont fail usually and the new one mite not be as good as the old one. See iF you have fire at the plug when the piston is on TDC before worrying about the condnser.
