Farmall BN exhaust manifold

Hi I have been lurking here for a while, but now have a question for the experts. I have a 1947 BN which I am finishing up the restoration. It runs great, but there appears to be 2 small holes in the reproduction exhaust manifold near the bottom. What are these holes for and what are you supposed to plug them with. They leak exhaust. I must have missed something here.
Thanks
Jack

lots of these old tractors have about a 1/8" hole in bottom of manifold. that is for the rain water to leak out when forget to cover exhuast pipe. i have a D case that i just welded the hole shut due to it getting too big from age, and just didnt like the exhuast leak. but they are supposed to be there.

a 10-24 about an inch long screw plugs them nicely without tapping the hole. Just did mine. Didn't like the hot exhaust on the carb and generator
