alternator wiring connections

putting back the alternator and was careful in my records when disasembly.

Sooo. there is the "spade connector that has 2 wires. I think one goes to the lug on the back of the alternator but where the heck does the other go ( the much longer wire of the 2)

If your talking a Delco 10si you have the 2 wire plug. #2 goes to the charge stud and the wire 10 gauge off the charge stud goes to the amp gauge. The #1 wire goes to the ignition switch by way of a resister light bulb or diode
