Hey everyone, my MTA has recently starting putting hydraulic oil into its crankcase. Is it safe to assume that the pump needs a new seal? And if so, whats the part number of it? Ive hunted all over Case's parts store and cant find it. Please help.

All they show is the complete pump on the IH parts pages.
If you remove the pump and take the old seal to NAPA they may be able to substitute for you. Or take the housing & shaft for measurement to find a proper fit.
You may need a Speede Sleeve to eliminate the groove in the shaft.

I was afraid you were going to say that Wayne. The NAPA's around me are useless. You can go in and talk tractors, and the guys behind the counter give you a look like your crazy.

Look for 450 tractor parts. Click hydraulic then numbers 371 and 373. 371 is a pesco pump and if I remember correct that's what originally came on SMTA. Remember them having the same size seal on both ends of the pump. If its has a Thompson pump some of those used a different size seal on one end. I'm thinking at one time the parts look up had a discrepancy on which seal was right. To be sure, may want to remove the seals to see if the pumps in good enough shape to replace the seals. All the seals I ever removed from them had a number on them.
