IH 354 BC144 engine sleeves (Where to buy?)

I have a IH 354 utility tractor with the gas engine, BC144. I need to pull the sleeves and at a minimum replace the "O" ring seal. Finding an "O" ring for the sleeve is turning into an adventure. I would consider buying the sleeve kit, sleeve, piston, rings, wrist pin, retainer, and hopefully the "O" rings if I could find a kit for the BC144 engine. There are kits available for the BD144 engine. Interestingly my I&T shop service manual list the bore and stroke for the the BC114 and the BD144 as being the same. The rod and main bearings as is the piston pin sizes are also listed as being the same sizes for the the BC144 and BD144. My question is would a sleeve kit for the BD144 also work in the BC144 block? I am thinking the piston is going to be different (5 rings for the diesel, 3 rings for the gas) but should work. Any suggestions would be welcomed.

WHERE are you located?

Sleeve "O" ring is CIH # 704100R1, and appears to be readily available, in North America, at least, from CIH and MANY aftermarket parts suppliers on the "net. GOOGLE the #.

Liner kit is # 3044203R93, now replaced by 3044202R92 (does one cylinder), also appears to be readily available from Mother Red and certain aftermarket sources, as well.

(DIESEL liner kit appears to be part # 751605R92.)

Bob,

I am located in Idaho, Boise, (southwestern part). I talked to the local CASE-IH place and ordered the "O" rings, $7 a piece, you need to order a packet of 5. I guess having a spare would be good in case I screw one of them up. A cylinder kit, piston, sleeve, rings, and wrist pin is $300+ each. TractorJoe has an entire in-frame repair kits, bearings, sleeves, pistons, rings, wrist pins, gaskets for $600+. I have no idea if that is a good deal or not. I have ordered a head and pan gasket from them (a week ago) but I have yet to see any of that merchandise.

Since the cylinder bores show no sign of wear, I am going to pull the sleeve and replace the "O" rings. Assuming I don't find any other stupids and the rings are serviceable I was going to hone the sleeves and put it all back together. A ring set from the local Case-IH bunch is ~$90, so I may go with that if I feel rich.

I still would like to know if the gas and diesel sleeves are interchangeable, same bore and stroke.

Sleeves and o-rings are the same for the gas and diesel engines (BC144 and BD144).

I rebuilt the engines in my B275 diesel and 3414 gas and both used the same sleeves and o-rings that I got here on this Website. Note that my local Case-IH dealer also has the parts for a higher price in Mahindra boxes.
