Sediment bowl question

My duel fuel sediment bowl has the top inlet for the large tank, a smaller side inlet for the 1 gal starter tank, and another side attachment marked "out" for the carb line.

My question is, the two side bowl line connection points, can they be switched around? Can I connect the 1 gal tank to the "out" side and the carb to the opposite side which is not marked but is for the 1 gal tank.

Long story, but my lines would fit better this way, I'm wondering if there are any 1 way valves or if it is all open flow.

Try blowing through it in the way you want to use it. The valve maybe only shuts off from the main tank & there is another valve under the small tank.

On my F 20, the shut off for the small tank, is at the outlet for the tank. When I put 3 galoons of gas in the main tank, it leaked out of the connection at the small tank. I tighten that connection and it quit leaking. The shut off at the tank must have only stopped the fuel from going to the carb.
