3 point for a 706

Hello all! I have. A 706 with a gas engine. I really need a three point on it and it does not have one. Been looking a lot and have not found one specifically for the 706. The closest I have found is one that fits on a H. Have researched that hitch and also fits a 544 with a additional spacer. The hitch is made buy worksaver. Anyone framilar with this hitch and what do you think it would take to make it fit. I would want it heavy duty enough to pull a two bottom plow. Yes I know they are expensive but I got the tractor at a good price and am willing to invest.

if you have no luck here try pulloff.com, i see some every so often and people are taking parts off tractor to make pullers and selling what they don't need.

This is a pic of the hitch noe

The 706 can be found bare back (Yours, only a drawbar) Fast hitch, or 3 pt. The FH and 3PT are connected to draft control systems and built in cylinder system in the rear housing. You might be best off finding a 3pt rear section from a salvage tractor, or trade with someone making a puller to get the hundreds of parts needed. Jim

Your going to be miles and miles ahead by putting on the original 3 point, in both value and usefulness.

If all you want to do is use a big bale carrier or something similar, an aftermarket one with cylinders will do just fine. Just about anything else you will not be happy with it... JMO of course.

Why would plow blade or something else not work with a
aftermarket? Does it have to do with the cylinders being on or
off and not being able to float over the ground? I can see that
being a problem but think I could get around that with a valve
that limits the amount of pressure to the cylinders. There is not
a salvage yard near me, that is why I am trying this path.

Nobody makes an aftermarket 3pt hitch specifically to fit the 706 and other tractors like it, because there is a factory 3pt hitch to fit it.

You would either have to adapt an existing hitch to fit, or build one yourself from scratch.

The aftermarket hitches lack precise position control and draft sensing, so any sort of draft implement like a plow or a grader blade will be 100% manual control. It's a good way to take a nice smooth road and turn it into a washboard.

Adding the factory 3pt hitch is MAJOR surgery to the tractor involving lots of parts. It's not simple. It's not easy. It's not something you can do in your backyard under a tree.

What he said!

What other jobs do you want the 3 point hitch to do and how many acres do you need to plow? If you only need it for plowing you should be able to find a decent 3 or 4 bottom pull plow for much less than the cost to install a rockshaft, position valve, draft control system and 3 point hitch on your tractor.

I think most 706's pulled 4 bottom plows in their day. Smaller equipment is popular now. You might be able to sell your 2 bottom 3 PT plow for more money than most 4 bottom pull plows sell for now.

You will be a lot happier and have more $$$ left in your pocket if you just go buy a 3x16' pull type plow. Pull type plows are "almost" a dime a dozen and it will be a lot less headache than trying to plow with a 3 point plow and nothing to keep the plow at depth and level with a manual system. If you have a small perfectly level plot of ground, you could get by, but if there is any un-evenness in the ground, you will fight it all the time.

I would be cleaning ditches, creasing, mabey have some type of a platform to haul hay on to feed. I agree I could probabally pull a three bottom. I only have 3 acres now but I would like to make this tractor able to Handel around 20 acres for the future.
