Is this square plug below the clutch linkage rod, the fill level indicator for the rear end 80/90w oil? Its been a few years since I change the fluid and wanted to make sure. I loosened the plug last night and fluid started coming out. What happens if this is overfilled? Does it come out of the axle barring?

I read that you fill the engine oil to the upper petcock. Last night my oil was just barely above the lower petcock. That a dangerous level? I notice a few drips in the garage and yard, I know it has a drip leak. Any problems putting a quart above the upper petcock?

Yooper....Yes on the square plug. If overfilled you get what is visible on your tractor a line showing leakage starting at gasket. I would use 140 if your not in the freeze belt. The engine oil level is fine if between the petcocks on oil pan. If you get no oil out the bottom one add until slow seep close and then add one additional quart at which time it should slow seep out the top.
